Citrus Sugars

Citrus sugar is a new favorite pantry item of mine. Especially when I don’t have fresh citrus in the house and need zest for a recipe. Citrus sugar also makes a fantastic gift! Try them in cake and cookie recipes. Or to sweeten pancake and waffle batter. Pie crust, icing, and homemade whipped cream gets a little more interesting with citrus sugar. Hot drinks too! …tea, coffee and hot cocoa.

To make, combine zest of choice with the sugar and mix until you get the consistency of brown sugar.

Store in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks in a cool, dry place. Enjoy!
