Banana Bacon Dog Bones

finished 1

Here’s a fun, easy indulgent treat for your favorite pup! Or if your pup is a picky eater like mine this a great recipe to make. The added bacon fat guarantees your pup will love them and the banana, whole wheat flour and wheat germ secretly add nutrition. I roll these pretty thin, for two reason, 1- my little guy is little and 2- they do have bacon fat in them. (They are fun and indulgent but should be enjoyed sparingly.) These would be a great gift too, especially paired with my Pumpkin-Blueberry Dog Scones…The holidays are upon us, after all!

To start preheat the oven to 350°F and grab a couple of sheet pans. In a large bowl mash the banana well. Add all other ingredients and mix the dough until it forms into a ball. Roll out to a 1/4″ thickness on a floured surface and cut to your pups favorite 3″ shape. Don’t forget to re-roll the scrapes, you should get about 55 cookies.

Bake 18-20 minutes. They should look crispy and dry, let cool on the sheet pans for 30 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container, in a cool dry place.

Treat your pup(s) within 2 weeks.
